Welcome to The Centre for Early Modern Mapping, News and Networks

CEMMN.net is a community of scholars based in the School of English and Drama, with collaborators across the Humanities Faculty, at Queen Mary University of London, and at other institutions, working on cartography, news and networks in the early modern period. Its members are involved in a number of  collaborative and international projects that aim to change the way we understand how knowledge was mapped and transmitted in the premodern world, and to develop new ways of representing that transfer in the digital age.

Members of the centre are also involved in the teaching of the MA in Early Modern Studies, 1300-1700, which has recently been relaunched to incorporate research-led teaching on mapping, news, social networks and digital methods.
