Members of CEMMN.net are working on a range of projects, including:

  • Cartography between Europe and the Islamic World, 1100-1600 (Alfred Hiatt, Jerry Brotton, Matthew Champion and Yossef Rapoport) is a ¬†Leverhulme-funded project aiming to promote comparative, cross-disciplinary scholarship on Islamic and European maps by bringing together experts in these two fields.
  • News Networks in Early Modern Europe (Joad Raymond), funded by the Leverhulme Trust, has sought to establish new approaches to the study of news networks, their formation and their functioning, thereby laying the foundations for a methodologically coherent European history of early modern news and newspapers.
  • Six Degrees of Francis Bacon (Ruth Ahnert), funded by a¬†Google Faculty Research Award and grants from Carnegie Mellon and Georgetown Universities, aims to provide a digital reconstruction of the early modern social network that scholars and students from all over the world will be able to collaboratively expand, revise, curate, and critique.
